Evelyn D’Arcy worked with 3rd to 6th class during this term . She invited GNS to participate in two workshops as part of ‘Dublin County Council Engage The City Programme’.
‘Each pupil described their every day journey to school . Some of the
children are neighbours and worked together to recreate the journey. Some
travel quite a long distance! In small groups, the children then drew large
maps of Glasnevin from memory, which were quite detailed. In then
discussing what parts of the neighbourhood could be improved, ideas about
community life, economy and trade, travel, environmental factors and
relationships emerged. In the next session we created our cities.’
Please see our wonderful creations below!
All at GNS would like to thank Evelyn for choosing us to participate in this project!
